New to paddle boarding? Don’t worry about equipment — we will provide any materials needed for your class, including the board!

We keep group classes small (4-8 participants) for maximum safety and enjoyment.
Our Acqua Basics class focuses on introducing you to the sport of stand up paddling (SUP) in a fun and safe manner. We will teach you the fundamental technique and safety which will be the foundation for your future paddling endeavors. You will need to be comfortable on the water and able to swim. No prior paddling experience necessary.
Acqua Kids is focused on kids ages 7 – 12. We want to introduce kids to the sport of stand up paddling (SUP) and start them out right with safety and proper technique for injury prevention and optimal benefit. Most of all we want them to have a blast paddling. We have youth size PFD’s and adjustable youth paddles that are appropriate for the height and weight of kiddos so that they can paddle properly with ease. Your child(ren) must be comfortable in the water and able to swim. No prior paddling experience necessary. We offer this as a private group class or private lesson. Please contact us to book.
Acqua Fitness is a great addition to your fitness routine while advancing your paddling skills through drills on land and water. We will incorporate the PaddleFit system of training with other fitness modalities to create a fun and effective workout. Whether you are a SUP racer or a SUP/fitness enthusiast, join us as we challenge and encourage one another.
BYO Board & Equipment encouraged, PFD (personal flotation device) mandatory.
This class will incorporate Pilates exercises appropriate for SUP. This is excellent for improving strength and flexibility, body awareness, proper biomechanics, and proprioception. This class will begin with a paddle warm up. We will be anchored while performing Pilates exercises on the SUP.
You may also request ahead of time for this class to take place on land.

We teach on-land/indoor fitness year round and thought it would be fun to offer this option as well. We know not everyone wants to paddle, but everyone wants to enjoy the outdoors during our short summer season here in NoMI.
Acqua Land Fitness will be a circuit-style class on land/beach. We will incorporate warm up, body weight exercises as well as props, and cool down. As always, safety and fun are top priority.

This year’s SUP lessons and events will be at various locations around Traverse City including East Bay Park and Silver Lake. Lesson location will be determined by availability and weather conditions. We will send you a confirmation of the location with directions 24 hours prior to your lesson or class.
